Hello!
I’m Sarah Hines, the founder and owner of Music on Main! I began playing piano at 5 years old and I now have a Piano Performance degree with an understudy in Piano Pedagogy (teaching) from Eastern Kentucky University. I am passionate about child development and believe that music is a wonderful way to develop a child physically, mentally, and emotionally. I am a Creative through and through, so music lessons are not boring :) I often use colored pens, candy, sticky tabs, jokes, analogies, stories, etc…anything to stimulate creative minds :)
Additional Teachers
Grace Radosevich
Grace earned her bachelor's degree from the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, KY, and is currently pursuing her master's in piano performance at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky.
Her journey on the piano started at the age of four when she started taking lessons from her older sister. In her undergraduate, she minored in psychology and took one of her favorite courses “Child and Adolescent Development”. The combination of music, psychology, and her love of children has led Grace to the path of teaching.
Her mission is to inspire people like those who have inspired her. Both teachers and performers have held significant positions of inspiration for Grace. She works to be able to encompass a sense of creativity and love to inspire the next generation of musicians.
Alongside teaching and earning her master's, Grace is a church pianist at a local church in Richmond. When not at the piano, Grace can be found walking her dog Rose, learning a new recipe, going to dog park meet-ups, or finding a DIY project to start (and hopefully finish)
Azusa Higotani
Hello! My name is Azusa and I am looking forward to meeting students and families who are excited to explore the world of piano.
I grew up in a small town surrounded by mountains in the western part of Japan, and came all the way to the United States to first study music therapy in 2002. I fell in love with teaching piano and have been teaching children of all ages and levels for the last 17 years in various places including Ohio, Florida, South Carolina, Tokyo, and now Kentucky! Along the way, I have also earned my masters degree in music therapy and piano pedagogy.
Regardless of the ages and levels, my favorite moment in the lesson is when students are exploring their imaginary world at the keys.
“I’m the cat today and you are the mouse!”
“I’m trying to make this sound really scary."
“Look! I’m holding a big marshmallow in my hand (to make fingers round).”
That’s where it all begins!
